Riobamba cooperative to build houses with ecomaterials
The Cooperative of Riobamba has approved a proposal to build houses within the Sofonias Affordable Houses program, based upon participatory design and ecomaterials. Some members of the cooperative have organized to build a settlement of 56 dwellings. After discussions between Pedro Morales, the director of the cooperative, and members of Grupo Sofonias and EcoSur, they decided to begin with twelve houses in 2004.
