A new life in new houses in Haiti

Renace la esperanza con casas en Haiti

In January 2010, at the time of the earquake in Haiti, Paul Beatrice was pregnant. As a result of the wound she sufferde, she lost her right arm and her unborn child. After the disaster, she returnet to live in Liancourt with his grandmother. Now, a new hope is born in her with a new house

In the workshop "St. Fridolin", pre-cast ferro-concrete panels, PFC, are produced. These panels are the forming units that will shape Paul Beatrice's house and others 59 basic housing units in the city of Liancourt. Workers also receive formal education in masonry and will be the people in charge of the construction, each one with its own dry toilet.

The workshop is very well equipped and is able to produce up to 50 square meters per day of PFC. The quality of the products has been spreaded by word of mouth and a couple of sales have been made to people in Port-au-Prince.

Besides Paul Beatrice, 59 other people will have a basic housing with this project. The first 5 families have been selected and their houses are being built. None of the benefitiaries must pay a penny for their house, but they must collaborate, if it is possible, with hand labour. The house can not be rented or sold and must be built in a land of their own.
